Arakwal Dubay

The Arakwal Dubay Dancers 2014 Calendar was shot in July 2013 on the beach at Broken Head over two glorious mornings at sunrise – yes, these amazing girls were in the water before sun-up in the middle of winter.
These beautiful Arakwal women's gracious natures and willingness to see the vision, and their ability to believe in the strength of their heritage by expressing their culture, is the reason this project was possible. 

The Arakwal Dubay Dancers 2014 Calendar is a private fundraiser for the cultural education of indigenous youth – photographic and graphic art services were donated and all proceeds will benefit young Bundjalung people.

Bella-Rose is a proud mother of three.
Bella-Rose is very family orientated 
and is a beautiful free spirit.
Bella-Rose loves her culture and stands strong for people.

Delta
Delta Kay is the cultural director for the Arakwal Dubay Dancers Calendar, she is also a strong advocate for the cultural education of indigenous youth.

Delta gave the welcome to country at the 
inaugural Boomerang Festival in Byron Bay in October 2013.

Delta works as an Education Officer with the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service. 
She is passionate about her culture and works with community to care for country.

Kalimna
Kalimna works for the local Byron Bay Arakwal people and she is currently studying for a management qualification.
Kalimna is very involved with her culture, 
cultural activities and her extended mob.

Kalimina is also very excited 
as she is soon to become a first time mother.

(actually we are all so excited we're bursting SQUEEEE!)

Kristine is committed to keeping her family of four empowered with her strong will, as well as supporting and advocating for others. 

Kris is a strong, intelligent and true humble leader in her own right – she dreams of continuing in her aunty's footsteps by keeping her Arakwal family thriving on country.

Kymberly is very involved with the
indigenous community promoting sexual health. 
She has been an inspiring indigenous model 
for many years she is very proud of her heritage.
 

Kym is in the process of creating a company that identifies indigenous talent in the fashion industry.

Rikkara is a very confident, independent, strong indigenous women. 
Rikki is an exceptionally hard worker both in her career and for her family and friends. 

Rikki is very passionate about her culture and wants to share it with the world.

Tallara
Tallara is a full time mother and is staunch about sharing her culture with her child and the community. 
Tallara has always been a part of the Dubay Dancer cultural events, she is proud very of her family and heritage.  


Tallara's dream is to become a photographer and own her business and will in future years, be the photographer shooting the Arakwal Dubay Dancers Calender.
